Tripartite – three parts that functions dependently on the other

The Spirit can live without the Body, but the Body cannot live without the Spirit.

What does this have to do with loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength? This is from a spiritual perspective, not physical. For Jews, the application of the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:5 / Matthew 22:37) is that loving God with your mind is about actions, not a mental state of being so mind and strength must be combined.

Mind: Greek “dianoia” means critical thinking and reasoning, intelligence, knowledge, understanding, attitude.

Mind v. Brain: The mind is not the brain.The human brain can enable the mind. It is an organ suitable for connecting the mind to the rest of the universe. For example, in order to have an Olympic swimming event (mind), you need an Olympic swimming pool (brain). The pool does not create the Olympic event; it makes them feasible at a given location.
